The 2 Greatest

We think we know what we want.  We ask God for what we want.  And then when we get it, we often recognize it's NOT what we wanted after all.  

We don't jump when just anyone says so, do we?  Before we obey we answer in our hearts and minds the question, who says so?   Then we decide if we will obey or not. The same is true when God says so.  

We all use the past, our at least our version of it, to explain or justify our lives today.  We are a product of our past, but it must be viewed properly in order to be learned from and moved beyond in a healthy way.

Have you ever solved one problem only to have that very solution create another problem or two or three?  That's the way life goes sometimes, and that's okay!

You and I will not see the legacy we leave.  We can build it, plan for it, dream about it, hope and pray concerning it--but it will come AFTER we've gone.  Can we start NOW seeing the future beyond our days?

Laughter is GOOD medicine!  But sometimes we laugh out of exasperation or frustration.  We are tired of waiting and have started to doubt the promises.  Well, never fear friends, God gets the last laugh.

There are many heroes in scripture that we idolize.  We admire them, praise them, and then think we aren't like them.  But we are!  Let's imitate the good but also acknowledge the flaws in people like faulty Father Abraham.  Because in the end, GOD IS THE REAL HERO.  

We all need to take care of ourselves and the pandemic has shown us that in new ways.  Yet some use self-care and turn it into selfish care.  How to we care well for ourselves and avoid that trap at the same time?

Isn't is wrong to love ourselves?  Nope!  It's not only right it's necessary, Jesus' said so.  But what's that mean?

Smells are powerful.  They impact our emotions and memories.  They are repulsive or inviting.  And scripture encourages us to be smelly, that is, to smell like Jesus!
