The 2 Greatest

If you were going to list out what you believe the church today needs most, what would be on YOUR list.  Here are some thoughts from Dr. Michael Bird to get us started and you can add to the conversation in love.  

Are you ever vulnerable?  We try really hard NOT to be, but in reality we are every single night.  It's called SLEEP!

I commend the folks who come to be with the church when they don't really want to be there.  We need to recapture the WEness of worship and get rid of the MEness.  And that means, at times, asking someone, "will you sing for me?"

When you think of the vast universe do you feel alone, tiny, unimportant?  What if I told you the universe is not empty, it's in fact CROWDED!?

We are led to believe coveting is part of life and we can't help it.  That's a lie.  The Lord Jesus can teach us something better, richer, sweeter---contentment.

Are you "satisfied?"  If so, why?  If not, why not?  The coveting culture continues to come at us in ways that make satisfaction unlikely.

It's fun and exciting to be present for the great moments in our history.  But it's embarrassing and difficult to be present for the more horrific events.  How would you answer the question, were YOU there?

Some folks like/love RUNNING.  Others, not so much.  But we are all running the race of life.  The question is, what kind of race are we running?  The answer to that question matters.  It affects how you live out your days.  

There are times we are too stunned to take in the truth.  We just can't seem to take it all in?  It's too much.  Let that same sense of awe and bewilderment come over you when you try to fathom the depths of God's love for you.

We seldom take the time to look long and hard at anything anymore.  Our lives feel hurried and rushed.  But if we take the time to SURVEY what God has done for us, peace can come to our frazzled souls.
