The 2 Greatest

I know people say there are no stupid questions, but let's face it there are!  But did Jesus ever ask a stupid question?  I don't think so.

Nicknames can be fun and loving or mean and hurtful.  The trouble with nicknames if they can be applied wrongfully and then continue to hurt and cause pain for years after the label was given.

You've heard the expression "if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."  But sometimes you can't get out of the kitchen.  We can't run from the heat and the heat will transforms us, one way or the other.  We want to be transformed in the fire, to be more like Jesus.

We all need the input of others.  Others know things, see things, and perceive things we just don't/can't.  BUT sometimes we aren't looking for advice and it comes to us unwelcome and unwanted.  That doesn't feel very loving. 

All of our hearts ARE after something; the question is what or whom?  I'm so thankful for messed up people who have made BIG mistakes gracing the pages of scripture.  It's not our sin, but our heart that matters to the Lord.

Safety.  It's a multi-billion dollar business and the concern of every thinking person.  And we fear our fear will only increase because we believe the world is ever becoming LESS safe.  But what if we ARE safe?

It's easy to buy the lie that if I could just (fill in the blank here which something BIG), then I'd be truly happy.  The truth is, happiness comes in the little things.

There's a real danger is saying everything that comes to our minds.  It can damage relationship in ways that can't be repaired.  Sometimes it's best to say nothing at all.

Where, who or what is your En Gedi?  Your place of refreshment.  When you find it--take the opportunity it gives you before it's too late!

There are the unnoticed, unsung heroes of our lives.  The people who loved us, gave to us, encouraged us, protected us in ways the world will never know.  But we wouldn't be who we are without them.  Today, let's thanks God for them.
