The 2 Greatest

There have been a lot of "one hit wonders" that have moved us and changed our lives.  They are in the Bible too.  Let's look to Ethan.

What's the motivation, the reason for living with goodness?  Why not be as mean as selfishness demands, if I can get away with it?  There a good reason to be good!

When does your life most resemble the life of our Savior?  What character trait is most like Christ?  Well, I think I know!

Oh the throw away line--"I'm fine, how are you?"  But we're all broken and hurting.  How can we find and be people with whom the truth can be told?

Saying something is not the same as DOING something.  We can deceive ourselves and short-circuit the spiritual transformation when we confuse confession with repentance.

We are constantly in a state of becoming.  The good news is you and I have a LOT of say in what we will become--but it takes intentionality on our part.

We can soooooo easily convince ourselves that whatever we want, think, do is RIGHT.  And yet it can be harmful to us and others.  The key isn't to follow our heart, but to GIVE our heart to God and follow him instead!

There are too many people just "trying to do better" without the indwelling power and loved enabling them.  Let's not just be cleaned up; let's be filled up!

We've all been caught saying something to one person we didn't want the other person to hear, but he or did.  BUSTED!  It's hard to clean up after that verbal miscue.  What if we always assumed there's an open mic.

If you are holding out on forgiving someone who has hurt you, you're harming yourself more than you are the other person.  It's time to set yourself free.
