The 2 Greatest

The Bible must not be turned into a collection of little momentos without regard to the BIG STORY of God.

We often mistakenly impose our culture and life on the pages of Scripture.  But the text was written to a different world, with a different culture.  We need to start THERE first, before we think we know what it means for us today.

The Bible was never meant to be treated like a "name it and claim it" collection of fun facts we like.  It's God's story, but we're not feasting, we're sadly snacking.

We have added so much to the Bible...not the text itself, but the order of books, the division of books and the helps.  Let's make sure the helps don't hurt!

We are ALL anchored to someone or something.  An anchor grounds us and settles us.  We take our anchor with us wherever we go.  What is YOUR anchor?

We all want to be wise--and it comes not in some one and done mysterious, but in everyday practices we can ALL do!  Here they are.

Friends--we love them and sometimes we tolerate them.  Sometimes their "good intentions" only make things worse.  And often it's because of a logic fallacy!

Not all problems are alike in intensity, severity, or priority.  It's important that we learn to discern the difference between muddy puddles and leaky ceilings.

It's not one of the other, it's both.  Jesus brought his authentic self to every situation because he knew who he was and therefore could let go of expectations on others.  Can we do the same?

God wants to teach us through his creation.  Let's LOOK, LISTEN and give praise.
