The 2 Greatest

Can you hear the chants?  "We're #1, We're #1!"  I don't think I've ever heard people shouting "We're #2!"  Jesus willingly put others ahead of himself, look at the cross.  Paul asks us to willingly BE SECOND too.

When you think of The Secret Service you probably think of intimidating men in dark suits, wearing sunglasses and packing guns.  But what if Jesus is calling you and me to be part of a different kind of "Secret Service," one that is life giving and loving?  Listen in!

People are looking at us and we are looking at others constantly.  We subconsciously are asking if that is a person to imitate.  Is their path, a path worth traveling?  Jesus offers invitations to LIFE and LOVE.  What invitation does your life communicate?

What animal do you most resemble?  Are you more like a busy beaver or more like an industrious ant?  What if the choice was between an eagle and a hippo?  Listen in!

What emotions do you typically feel when someone interrupts you?  Are you angry, frustrated, or impatient?  It's fascinating to read about all the times in the Gospels when Jesus was interrupted.  Instead of seeing interruptions as a bother, he saw them as opportunities to love. Be Like Jesus!

Much of our attitude IS a choice.  It's about perspective and focus.  There are some really fantastic benefits for us as we teach ourselves to be more and more grateful and less and less grumpy!

Is it possible you might be hiding behind busyness because it's easier to stay busy than to deal with some hard things in your life?  God can't meet you in the busyness because you are too distracted to hear and see and know.  But God can meet you in the quietness, if you will only slow down.  Don't let your busyness become laziness.
