The 2 Greatest

There are a LOT of legends surrounding Christmas.  Some are silly and some serious.  Some are true and some false.  Through it all--don't let any overstep the truth of Jesus.

Christians easily get sucked into the culture wars over the holiday.  The world doesn't give Jesus the respect he deserves.  Yep!  That's true.  But the bigger question is....do we?

One thing is clear about Christmas.  We are NOT suppose to live anxiously, but we ARE suppose to live expectantly.   Let's learn to live on tip toe all year through.

We all have both, hopes AND fears.  Christmas doesn't change that, or does it?  Our hopes and fears intersect at a very unlikely place.  

Where do you see crosses?  Is that where they go?  What do they mean anyway?  And where does the cross fit in your nativity scene this year?

The season of BLUR is happening.  Lots going on.  Slow down, allow God's Spirit to form you as you PONDER not WANDER this year.

Have you ever eaten a tomato from the grocery store.  Yuck.  They are often plastic tasting.  But oh the taste of a home grown, delicious tomato.  No comparison.  Is it possible that some people are walking away from the plastic tomato god instead of the real one?

Many of us are scared of the dark in some form or another.  But look and listen closer.  God often does his best work in the sacred darkness.  

Just because a book looks worn doesn't mean it has been read.  What if you begin to see people as books whose stories need to be told and you're just the person to listen!

Christianity is NOT supposed to be lived in your head but in your life.  With more and more people walking away from faith, it's time we offer them a peach!
