The 2 Greatest

If you watch people you can easily notice the direction they are pointing as it relates to you.  Their words, actions and presence are either moving in your direction for greater intimacy and connection or they are moving away.  The good newes is that God's direction is eternally USward!  Thanks be to God!

Often people tell you things you're supposed to do.  They give you instructions, advice, commands.  The Christmas angel came to announce NEWS not ADVICE.  The angel told us what's been done FOR us.  Thanks be to God!

Oh how I'd love to sit down with Mary and talk about Christmas from HER perspective.  It has to be so confusing and so wonderful at the same time.  What do you think?  When she kissed Jesus, did she know she was kissing the face of God?

Life goes by so fast.  Even though God is always trying to get our attention, we often the sign.  Here's one sign we must not miss.

The holidays have us hurrying enough already.  And it's a common theme for preachers to encourage you to slow down.  But today, I want to get you to practice a little HOLY HURRY.

When we buy gifts for others at Christmas we inwardly desire a certain reaction/response.  We want our gift to bring joy.  But what if joy doesn't come in a box?

This Christmas remember that God came here to be WITH US, LIKE US, and FOR US.  And as you are "with" other people, you too can experience the joy of sameness.

The world wants to define your success as a human by what you do, what you have and how popular you are.  Jesus has a much better way.

There are a LOT of legends surrounding Christmas.  Some are silly and some serious.  Some are true and some false.  Through it all--don't let any overstep the truth of Jesus.

Christians easily get sucked into the culture wars over the holiday.  The world doesn't give Jesus the respect he deserves.  Yep!  That's true.  But the bigger question is....do we?
