The 2 Greatest

When we lose a good friend we have to process, grieve, and move on somehow changed from the life we shared with the person we lost.  But in Jesus "lost" is not the right word.  Instead we commend them to the Lord in the confident hope of the resurrection.

We all have "stuff:"  Money, things, opportunities, talents and such.  The question of the day is what is your philosophy regarding your stuff?  How would you finish the sentence:  "What's mine is...?"

We only know people from our time with them.  And there is always much more we don't know and haven't experienced.  Sometimes it's helpful to look at ALL the pictures in the album.

DO THE OPPOSITE!  How can that simple practice help us be better lovers of God and others?  Listen in!

In what does "life" consist?  Good question, huh?  Well, Jesus told us pretty directly that life is NOT.  Yet we keep trying to head down that path anyway.

We all must pay the price for the decisions we make.  But there is one decision we can make that will greatly unburden us and set us free.  Don't you want to lighten the toll on your soul?

I bet there are some things Jesus said we really wish he hadn't.  Those words hit too close to home for us.  We'd like to mark them out, gag Jesus so he doesn't say them, so we don't hear them, and we don't have to do them.

Have you ever compared the number of hours a person spends in church or Christian small group vs. the number of hours we do everything else?  We will never be formed into Christlikeness one, two or three hours a week.  It will only come as we see all of life as time with Jesus.

There are these little cliches or common sayings that dominate our vocabulary and in some ways dictate our lives.  Let's make sure it's the Word of the Lord that guides our path this year.
